"Reaching the un-reached at any cost"
Dear Prayer Partners,
Greetings to you in the sweet name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ! I am sorry for the delay with this month’s newsletter.
With deep sadness, I would like to inform you of the passing of Melvin W. Johnson. Melvin was a co-founder of our mission organization, NICM. He was a close friend, and a father to me in ways that truly mattered.
Melvin was first a missionary to China after his retirement from being a pilot for United Airlines. He went on missions taking bibles to China for ten years before God called him to go to India but, he did not know anyone in India. Not knowing what his next mission would be, he obeyed the Lord and came to India. It was by a divine appointment that I met Melvin in the city of Delhi in 1995. God brought us together, and the vision for growing NICM to the ministry that it is today was established. At that time, I had only 7 co-workers working with me but, today we have 152 missionaries working in 872 villages, three bible (missionary training) schools, two language schools (for children living in the slums), and many vocational training centers and literacy programs throughout North India – reaching people for Christ every day.
Melvin brought me to California where we started traveling together all over the US to meet brothers and sisters in Christ who would also catch on to this vision and mission. And that is how many like yourselves have come to support NICM through your prayers and giving to reach even more people for Christ.

NICM was founded in 1999 and incorporated as a 501c organization in the United States in 2001. God open the doors, and we witnessed many miracles as the ministry expanded to many different North Indian states and villages.
Since 1996, I have been able to use Melvin’s flying privileges to fly all over the world almost for free to tell more people about our mission. Melvin was an incredible asset to NICM. He invested his time, resources, and his life to advancing the gospel of Christ! He went home to be with the Lord at 12 a.m., on the 18th of June at the age of 97. His legacy will live on–out from his dedication to wining souls for Christ.
Please pray for us during this time of loss. We are also facing heavy persecutions with a few pastors being detained or waiting for bail; and another NICM leader suffered a serious stroke and
had been on a ventilator for 28 days – now in recovery but he is still not free from danger yet. Due
to some of these challenges, our expenses have increased by a lot these last few months. But
God is greater than our challenges – He will make a way for us. Please pray and support us as the
Lord leads you.
